FM Home & Patio was built on one simple idea: do the job right and treat people well.

Josh Amundson, born and raised in West Fargo, began building decks in 1995, learning the trade from his father. Since then, he has personally constructed over 1,500 decks and led the company to complete thousands more throughout the Fargo–Moorhead region.

This isn’t a large, revolving-door crew. It’s a small, experienced team — and the owner is on every build.

During the off-season, we tour decking and railing manufacturing facilities to better understand how products are made. That means when we recommend a product, it’s based on firsthand knowledge — not sales brochures.

We proudly still offer Western Red Cedar alongside composite and low-maintenance materials because we believe homeowners deserve real options and honest guidance.

Our Process

1. Consultation & Design

We meet with you, discuss your goals, and can provide 3D renderings so you see your deck before we build it.

2. Proposal & Scheduling

Sign the proposal and submit your 40% deposit or financing approval to secure your spot on the schedule.

3. Permits & Preparation

We handle permits and utility locates (excluding sprinkler lines and private propane lines).

4. Build & Completion

In most cases, within just a few days, you’ll be enjoying your new deck.
